SBH donates laptops to Blind Students of Nethra Vidyalaya| 26-08-2015

State Bank of Hyderabad Managing Director Sri Santhanu Mukherjee and General Manager Sri Anil Malhotra Visited JIVA and donated laptops to Nethra Vidyalaya students as a part of Corporate Social responsibility.

Not a lot of people are aware that Nethra Vidyalaya is the first institute in India providing education, from the level of school to college, for blind students using latest technology.

Apart from the conventional and traditional Braille; JAWS, DEXBURY, C Language RDBMS e-commerce (B Com), Oracle for blind MAGIC, Microsoft Software etc are used to teach the students of Nethra’s school, junior and degree colleges.

The students of Nethra Vidyalaya are taught life skills using the latest software, tools, technologies and learning techniques in a safe, loving, caring and nurturing environment. The medium of instruction is English and students appear for exams using laptops, and software (JAWS – Job Access With Sound) without the help of scribes.

Tactile globes, abacus, Braille text books & maps and the latest learning and teaching aids  are employed to impart education to children with special needs who are overcoming blindness.

Nethra Vidyalaya was established on 31 August 2007. Since its inception, the school has maintained a 100% pass percentage.

HH Ahobila Swamiji offered His divine blessing to the faculy, staff, donors and students of Nethra Vidyalaya.
