Blind Student of Nethra Vidyalaya WON the State Cricket Tournament
Our Blind Student of Nethra Vidyalaya won the “A.P.State level cricket tournament, 2015″ conducted by the VBCA (Visakhapatnam Blind Cricket Association) from 14th to 17th of May at Y.S.R. Cricket ground, Visakhapatnam.
Eight teams from different districts in Andhra Pradesh state participated in the tournament.
The highlight of the tournament is that all the other teams were formed from different schools and colleges of that particular district, but Nethra Vidyalaya team of 13 was formed within our SINGLE institution only from the whole of Visakhapatnam district.
This feat was never achieved by any other institution.
Our students also won 2 “Man of the match”, 3 “Best fielder”, 3 “Best bowler”, 3 “Best All Rounder” awards. Also each member received individual awards.
Team captain G. Suryanarayana played for A.P State team in National tournament and won the All India trophy, Man of the match.
Thanks to one and all who supported us in empowering the visually challenged to achieve their dreams with courage and determination.
