On the occasion of Teacher’s Day -05th-sept-2022, Swamiji spoken these words: A very happy teachers day to you all in India, we are celebrating today the teacher’s day, the birthday of our late second president of India, Dr. Sarveypalli Radha Krishnan the birthday as a day to remember the support and their generosity of teachers in carving the nation, in making us as good and responsible citizens of this country and then as the responsible citizens of the world.
As our principal rightly said Dr. Sarveypalli Radha Krishnan proved that a teacher will be able to lead the country, a country with highest population and a country with a democratic setup and a country with rich values in well and today by celebrating his birthday as a teacher’s day, we are trying to understand the role of a teacher and in turn role of a student and how a teacher has to show his or her concern toward the students and then a student he is our well concerned for the teacher also.
To build a nation or to ruin the nation it is the teacher who plays a key role it is said. If you want to kill the nation you need not use any weapons, you need not use any guns or bombs or rockets, you need not use any hydrogen or nuclear weapons, choose useless teachers and the nation ruins on its own because it is the teacher who has to instil the qualities of the children for the future country it is the students, who are going to be the big citizens and who are going to be the voters who are going to be the rulers and who are going to be the business guys and everything comes out of children and students.
If good qualities are instilled in the children, then they become responsible business people, responsible voters and responsible rulers and responsible officials.
If you give good food the body becomes good, isn’t it?
If you give good food that tree becomes green and blooming but if proper food is not given to the tree what happens that ray becomes pale and weathered.
If you don’t give proper food to the body what happens the children? become pale and unhealthy bodies may be, Strong muscles may be strong like iron but when the mind is poor then what happens? if a person with weak mind?
a person with the less standard of the brain what happens? He became useless and if such a population is grown from the children of a country, then what happens?
what would be the result of that country?
Records the country becomes useless and the population become useless. So, if you want a good country if you want good population, if you want a progressive nation then what is the raw material?
children what is the raw material for them and if the raw material is groomed properly then the product becomes strong and costly and powerful so if we call for the children and if we train the children.
And if we give good food to their brains and if we nurture them properly then only a nation becomes good strong, powerful and intellectual, wise but who are the ones to make all these things from the students obviously the teachers.
So, if the teachers are good then everything becomes good if the teachers are not then the whole thing goes to wins waste so teacher is the key teacher is the root cause for any nation to glow or go to group for anything in olden days there is a saying in telugu “bataka leka badi panthulu” but it was old days saying, nowadays it is not teachers are really taken care by the government and also by the private sectors because teachers are either working in governmental sector like schools and colleges and universities are working with the private schools or colleges etc.
So, now the pay scales for those teachers are considerably good but are they able to nurture the students with the proper knowledge, So this is a big question if the productivity of a nation is not properly showing up means the teachers are not doing their duties properly, maybe there are few reasons like their hands have been tightened either by the governmental sources or by the private people, the teachers may not be allowed to use their talent and skills properly that may be one of the reasons.
But when there is a freedom to a teacher to nurture the students then they have to take care of the students properly and they have to nurture the students as strong products, powerful tools to build the nation in all respects and in all aspects in any field that a country needs to flourish and I am sure in any nation the productivity of a child sometimes you know depends on so many things because among the children there may be handicapped children, physically disabled children and mentally disabled children and some normal children and some with low capacitate children and some nice and brilliant children will be in different categories .
So, to what type of change what type of guidance is needed to be given proper training to the teacher makes him understand that capability of a student and thus he will be supporting the student whether he is physically handicapped mentally handicapped or otherwise pressed by the family situations, you know sometimes student may be good but back home mother may not be good, father may not be good sometimes, they may be quarrelling with each other sometimes, they may be busy with their own jobs, may be sometimes they are busy with their earnings not taking care of the children or sometimes they are in their own world, just left away the children to their own faith, sometimes this kind of environment also makes the children become bad ventures.
So, the teacher is the key there who has to pay proper attention on each individual student to identify the problems and to nurture that specific student properly for which it is said the teacher must be equipped with all the tools that are needed either physical or intellectual tools if they are pretty physical like some kind of instruments and probes as you children are using like laptops are otherwise for everyone the talent to identify need and give proper advice and guidance if the teacher is able to provide such a kind of advice, then the student will slowly slowly be able to catch the track hold the thread and push oneself ahead in achieving higher goals and the role of the teacher is also there in fixing up the goals among the students what would be the goal of any student can you tell me? what would be the probable goal of any student? what could be our aim? to achieve reaching the skies and stars
what would be our goal reaching the stars aim at stars in whatever field you chose if you want to do business, reach the start of that business, if you are in politics reach the stars being a politician, if you want to be a homemaker be the star in making the home a heaven, if you want to be a teacher be at the star reach the height of the star.
So, that you can glow and you can make the students glow with wonderful knowledge isn’t it.
let it be any field we should reach the stars that should be our goal that should be our aim and it is the teacher the role of the teacher is to make students fix up with the goal and put proper effort in reaching the goal for which the concern is very very important.
First the teacher should fill up his tank with the full substance the proper content it is said in scriptures “achi nothihi shastra dhan” he first of all pulls up all the resources that are needed to become a perfect teacher to deliver the right content he has given right content then only we able to understand. then “acharya stapayadyi” he knows everything but he never says to anything, never says to anybody, he never reveals to anybody or he won’t be able to reveal it properly and nobody knows what he’s communicating and nobody understands what he’s trying to say then doesn’t it make any sense for a student. No, it is wasting the time.
So, the teacher must be able to deliver properly and should be able to convince the student to read its proper essence “Achrya Stapayathi” and then you should be believing in what he says is right he should have the faith in the subject of what he teaches to a student, then only students get faith it’s not the talent of the person that makes others to be convinced but it is the heart of the teacher that makes the student to be convinced if the teacher is with full of heart.
Full of love full of commitment and full of concern automatically students also will have such a kind of faith in the content they are receiving so it is the duty of a right teacher to inculcate to develop the faith in the subject is teaching as it is his heart so this is what he said “swayam Aacharathe” that is a right teacher, the conviction, the faith and the resolution in the subjects that he is learning and teaching is very much needed with our teachers that is why we respect the teacher as a creator or a destroyer.
who is the creator? Students answered as Brahma.
who is the destroyer? Students answered as Easha.
who is the supporter? Students answered as Vishnu.
So, teacher should become a “brahma” to create good ideology among the students by understanding and delivering proper content to students and whatever the doubts whatever the weaknesses among the children should be destroyed from their minds and hearts so he should become a “Maheshwara” and after understanding learning and fixing those aims and ideologies in the hearts, he should become a “Vishnu” supporter of those ideologies to nurture and to grow well then, he becomes a “Guru Sakshath Para Brahma” then he can expand the horizon of a student to encompass not just the family, not just the state, not just the country but the entire universe, not only he grows but he will be able to grow the student also to that extent. So, we worship the “gurus” as alter egos of God, representative of God, another form of God, the moving form of God, God in a visible form, God in an adorable form that is the place given by the scriptures to the world and fortunate enough in Bharath we are able to understand that and follow that to the spirit of the world but nowadays it is becoming just only a verbal deliverance it should not become like that we should understand.
The greatness of a teacher and we should take it to our heart and then fill up our hearts with “Guru Bakthi and Kruthgnatha”
