Visually challenged students of 8th, 9th and 10th grades of Nethra Vidyalaya participated with extreme enthusiasm and energy in a Map Pointing Quiz conducted by NATMO (National Atlas & thematic mapping Organisation), Kolkata in collaboration with INCA (Indian National Cartographic Association).
Ms Anjana Benerjee and Mr Daud Kondulna conducted a workshop on the 10th of October in the school. Material was sent about a week before the workshop. The material included maps of India – Geographical, Political, Rivers, Rainfall, Vegetation, and Population etc.

The school teacher, Indira Priya and her team prepared our students with conceptual, factual, and value based knowledge on the importance of all places shown in the maps. Principal P Subba Lakshmi ji’s initiation on this effort was appreciated!

The Quiz Competition had 3 rounds: 
• 1st Round – Geography of India
• 2nd Round – General Knowledge
• 3rd Round – Map Pointing

12 Teams participated in the competition. Each team comprised of 3 students. The winning team will be sent to National Level Competition!
As we await the results, we would like to congratulate the participants of Nethra Vidyalaya for their excellent performance!
